STRONGER THAN ALL…AND MORE THAN READY TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT

INTRODUCING PODTERA!!

Louisville, KY – There’s no shortage of podcasts out there, and all think they have something to say. Of them all, few are willing to back their talk with performance aside from their opinion spewing. Podtera breaks the mold.

Podtera, a new band that combines musical talent with a unique ability to talk about it, was recently formed and is ready to showcase that their collective efforts can be far more than the sum of their various chatter in the podcasting community.

“We just wanted to do something different to promote our podcasts,” says Talk Toomey and former Primer 55 bassist Joshua Toomey. “We all talk about a lot of bands, but sometimes it’s just cool to record something ourselves.”

That idea has produced immediate results. The band has completed their first song, a cover of the Deftones’ song “Elite”. From first listen, you feel that this band has significant chops and the ability to be far more than a side project.

““Elite” is a song that we all dug,” Toomey recalls. “What made it cool was how quickly we came together to record it.”

Hearing the song, it’s clear that Toomey is right. Vocalist Brandon Kellum has a guttural voice that would curdle Satan’s blood, while guitarist Erik Hall has decidedly sharp guitar chops. The sound is fleshed out by the thick bottom end provided by drummer Trav Turner and the aforementioned Toomey. According to the Talk Toomey host, this recording has opened to the door to more music.

“We are going to do more,” he admits. “We will certainly talk about what we are doing on our podcasts and share the music there first. Overall, it’s a project that’s going to almost self promote itself by being an fun extension of Talk Toomey, Shoot The Shed and As The Story Grows. It’s different, but different is always good.”

When asked about bands such as Metallica covering Misfits songs throughout the 80’s, Doyle had this to say:

“I think Cliff Burton had a lot to do with the popularity of the band, and so did Danzig. He was huge there for a while. And you know, stayed on top, where he’s at. Those guys wearing all those shirts got people lookin’ at it. It’s funny, those guys grew up inspired by things I did, in the Misfits, and now I’m writing things inspired by what they’re doing in their bands. It’s like a fucking circle jerk.”

On his relationship with David Ellefson:

“I’ve known Dave for like 20 years, easily. We toured with them (Megadeth) and kept in contact. I had seen him at Metal Allegiance. I did a show with Alissa and he was there. He started telling me about it (EMP LABEL GROUP) and I gave him Abominator. He started calling and saying ‘I want you guys’ and we were like ‘OK cool’.”

Doyle II: As We Die”, due on May 5 via EMP Label Group in conjunction with Doyle’s own Monsterman Records pre-order here

MOTÖRHEAD and Amplified Ale Works Collaborate on Limited Edition Beer Series

Amplified Ale Works is pleased to announce their newest beer collaboration with rock legends MOTÖRHEAD. Born to Lose IPA is a boldly aggressive West Coast-style IPA, befitting of the band’s loud, aggressive style. The 6.5% IPA is brewed with Cascade, Simcoe and Citra hops that provide an earthy, resinous aroma with notes of fresh citrus. In an ode to MOTÖRHEAD‘s British roots, the beer was also brewed with Maris Otter, a premium British malt that brings a sweet balance to the beer’s bold bitterness.
The limited edition beer will be sold directly from Amplified’s two San Diego locations and will also be available for purchase via the website TheBeerConnect.com for refrigerated shipping throughout California. The can features an original design of band members in a dystopian “Born to Lose” future from LA-based artist Jack Gregory. The follow up beer in the series, Live to Win IPA, will be released later this year.

ABOUT MOTÖRHEAD:
An English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister, MOTÖRHEAD quickly rose to great prominence in the British punk and heavy metal scenes. Although they changed their line-up several times, MOTÖRHEAD never compromised or changed their unique, raging sound, which saw the band and their music become a lifestyle for many people from all genres, whether rockers, punks or alternative.
As a power trio, they had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top 40. The albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades and particularly No Sleep ’till Hammersmith cemented MOTÖRHEAD‘s reputation as a top-tier rock band. The band are ranked number 26 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. As of 2016, they have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Road dogs extraordinaire, for the last 20+ years of their career, MOTÖRHEAD were guitarist Phil Campbell, drummer Mikkey Dee and were (of course!) fronted by Lemmy, in early 2015 they entered the studio to begin work on Bad Magic, which was released in late August 2015. It quickly became one of the band’s most successful ones ever, but sadly, Lemmy’s health was in decline, and he passed away on December 28, 2015. The band’s last record turned out to be a recording of two typically blistering sold-out shows from the Bad Magic tour, at Munich’s Zenith concert hall only a month prior to his passing.
MOTÖRHEAD released 22 studio albums, 13 live recordings, 12 compilation albums, and four EPs over a career spanning 40 years. The MOTÖRHEAD legacy lives on strongly through their music and loyal fans.
